Abstract
Discusses the rationale and guidelines for the implementation of a training program for paraprofessional mental health workers which emphasizes relationship building skills. An examination of the prerequisites for leading the program, the types of trainees that can most benefit from the training, and the use of the program within a comprehensive training package for paraprofessionals are detailed. Finally, a strategy developed to evaluate the training program is considered. (26 ref) (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2006 APA, all rights reserved).
