Abstract
The real-time non-destructive evaluation (NDE) of fatigue crack damage was analyzed using ultrasonic sensing. The NDE system demonstrated a approach to on-line estimation of crack damage model parameter. The ultrasonic flaw detectors were used in the aerospace and nuclear power industries to detect flaws in structures. The damage sensing system was found to be suitable for health monitoring and residual life prediction in aging and aircraft structures.
