Abstract
The recent developments on the network vulnerability and robustness theory were reviewed and discussed. Some relevant concepts, including the centrality measures were provided based on the existing literatures. In addition, the network robustness and its applications in transportation networks and supply chain networks were introduced. Based on these discussions, it is pointed. Out that in the complex network field, too much emphasis has been put on the network topological features and therefore, there lacks a network efficiency/performance measure that takes such important factors as the user behavior, flow, and flow induced cost into account.
