Abstract

Primarily a disorder of patients with diabetic sensory neuropathy, Charcot foot is a great masquerader, easily mistaken for deep vein thrombosis or joint infection, and its presentation is variable. The authors identify the most reliable clues, the indications for diagnostic imaging, and the best therapeutic strategies for acute, subacute, and chronic stages.
