abstract = "In this paper we show that reconfigurable metamaterials can be achieved through a combination of nanowire assemblies with top-down lithographically fabricated nanoantennas. Simulation results show that the proposed metamaterials, which consist of assembled nanowire lattices and lithographically fabricated nanoantennas, exhibit strong chiral response in the near-infrared region. More importantly, chiroptical properties including the circular dichroism and handedness of the metamaterials can be controlled by varying the orientation of the assembled lattices. Our study reveals that directed self-assembly of nanoparticles in conjunction with nanostructures obtained from top-down fabrication approaches may open up new avenues for reconfigurable metadevices.",
