Abstract

A rational and refined analysis method is proposed for predicting the lateral distribution of vehicular live loads on unequally spaced I-shaped bridge girders. In part I of the paper, pertinent theory, modeling of bridge systems, verification of bridge models, and methods for determining live-load distribution factors are described. In part II, parametric studies involving a number of real bridges are discussed in detail.
