Abstract
Knee replacement arthroplasty is a new surgical procedure. The geometric prosthesis, in which the femoral and tibial components are joined, is simpler to insert and align than the polycentric device. In more than 273 knee replacement operations performed, principally with the geometric prosthesis, the experience has been gratifying. In most cases pain has been relieved, motion preserved, and stability restored.
