Abstract

A survey and its results on common practices, approaches and techniques used in the software development industry are discussed. The Web-based survey participants are from diverse fields and reflect diverse range of position and experience in the software industry. Results showed the popularity of waterfall lifecycle model and another popular technique is group-consensus-type technique.
