Abstract
Cellular manufacturing (CM) is an innovative manufacturing concept. It involves three major section: cell formation, cell design and cell management. The present status and problem of the cellular manufacturing are summarized firstly. Based on the above mentioned, the non-linear programming model of integrated solving cell formation, machine layout and group scheduling concurrently is established. The solving scheme of the model based on genetic algorithms is presented. Finally, the directions for future research are pointed out.
