Abstract

The modified row action projection algorithm is used to increase the spatial resolution of images reconstructed via the filter back projection algorithm. This approach can provide an interactive zoom-in capability which could be of great utility in medical and commercial applications of tomographic image reconstruction. Numerical results are presented for a 256 × 256 computer-simulated head-phantom image.
