Abstract
The influence of construction sequencing and the concrete deck placement process on the deformed shape of the skewed bridge was discussed. The field-tested bridge was a single span, composite, steel plate girder located on an extension to Interstate 99 in central Pennysylvania. The structure was monitored during 12-hour concrete deck placement process, and strain transducers were placed on girder webs and cross frame, and LVDTs were used to measure the girder lateral displacements and the abutements. The results indicated that actual girder rotation and corresponding relative girder top flange displacements, were 50% of the predicted displacements, and vertical girder displacement tended to increase .
