Abstract
Experimental populations of D. melanogaster were subjected to long term dietary selection using sucrose and ethanol in two independent experiments. The G6pd polymorphism exhibits a strong response to high sucrose selection whereas the 6Pgd polymorphism exhlbits an equally strong response to ethanol selection.
