Abstract

The reversed series solution to the universal Kepler equation provides a useful analytical approximation that takes advantage of the singularity-free universal function formulation. The solution is compatible with any variational approaches that use the universal functions to examine small disturbances or the effects of low-level thrust. A rectified step can be inserted to control error over a large change in true anomaly.
