Abstract

This paper outlines a system which couples a rotorcraft analysis software and an acoustic prediction software. The tool used for rotorcraft analysis is Rotorcraft Comprehensive Analysis System (RCAS), and the tool used for acoustic prediction is PSU-WOPWOP. The coupled system uses PSU-WOPWOP as an extension of RCAS by making use of the data supplied by RCAS as input for the acoustic prediction. The coupled system has been tested for robustness by running analysis on a multitude of RCAS input files. The system has also been automated by requiring the user to run a single script in order to execute the entire system. The coupling effort now allows a user to perform acoutic analysis of a rotorcraft configuration along with aerodynamic and strutural analysis.
