Abstract

This paper presents the synthesis and analysis of multivariable robust control systems for a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter in forward flight based on the ADS-33C specification and the Structured Singular Value (μ) analysis. Several robust controllers with different configurations (e.g., a rate or attitude command, 3 or 4-axis design) were constructed to determine which configuration provides the best overall handling qualities performance. It was determined that the Rate Command 3-axis, designed with an ideal model structure, yielded the best overall performance.
