Abstract

Roger Dickinson was one of the titans of macromarketing who helped to develop the field during its first thirty years. A retailing scholar highly regarded for his professional insights, he was an effective servant to all macromarketers through his leadership of the Communications section of the Journal of Macromarketing. He was also beloved by many younger scholars for the counsel he gave them when he was asked. In his personal life, Roger was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and an accomplished tennis player throughout his life after leading his Williams College team when he played there as a student.
