Abstract

Rotary power information for major agricultural machinery operations was gathered from research reports, machinery testing institute reports, and machinery manufacturers. A model and parameters were developed for predicting average rotary power requirements for 32 major harvesting and handling machines. Typical power requirement parameters were determined along with an expected range or variation due to differences in machine design, machine condition, and crop characteristics. All parameters are summarized in a convenient reference table.
