Abstract

The crystal and molecular structure of the title compound, C ₂₃H₂₅NOS, has been determined by means of X-ray diffraction. This compound is readily lithiated with n-butyl-lithium at the 2-position of the thiophene ring to give a chiral lithiothiophene that can be used as a chiral template for enantioselective conjugate addition of an alkyl group to an enone.
