Abstract

This paper describes an ongoing effort to develop instrumentation which can provide a farm tractor operator with stability/instability feedback information. The tractor operator's man/machine interface is modeled here as a semiautomatic control system with feedback. The addition of an electro-mechanical stability determination system and display can greatly decrease the chance of tractor rollover by adding redundancy to the operator/tractor control system. This system can also improve tractor operation training.
