Abstract
This paper presents the results of a beta needs assessment of the agricultural safety and health educational needs of seven groups of agricultural professionals (equipment dealers, cooperative extension agents, secondary agriculture teachers, agri-chemical/fertilizer dealers, insurance company representatives, grain/feed dealers, and farm animal veterinarians). The results of a mail survey of a proportional random sampling of 826 professionals provides a framework for the design, development, and evaluation of future national and state educational programs on agricultural safety and health. This will increase sharing of agricultural safety information with farmers and ranchers through knowledgeable professionals within agriculture.
