Abstract
The safety provided to the workers from the various hazards in the wood products industry was discussed. The Bureau of Labor Statistics (2004), tracked the timber cutters as the most high risk occupations. A rate of fatal injuries of 100,000 workers per loggers was 129 in the year 1997 in USA and the national average fatality rate for all occupants was 4.7. An investigation of safety performance in the wood industry implies that mills with the best safety records have a top management team that provided the full support for a culture of safety.
