Abstract

• A variety of powder drying technologies are available. Indirect rotary driers may be preferred for fly ash. • We propose both initial and QC sampling for recovery of landfilled fly ash. • For initial sampling: - Stratified random sampling for feasibility study - Grid-based sampling is more reliable (and more $$) • PA landfill: - Meeting ASTM C618, except for moisture content - Sieving (on #50 or #100) is recommended - Generally good performance in concrete.
