Abstract

Spatially variant apodization (SVA) is a nonlinear filtering operation which significantly reduces the sidelobe levels without degrading mainlobe resolution of a sinc impulse response. As such, a modified version of noninteger Nyquist SVA is proposed and developed an iterative super SVA procedure for SAR and ISAR image enhancement. As a result, the proposed technique is successfully applied to various SAR/ISAR images.
