title = "Selecting precast concrete building systems",
abstract = "The development of an integrated computer system to assist in the selection of precast concrete (PC) building systems is described. StructNet, a neural network program, identifies possible structural systems given a project design and various project parameters. The most probable structural systems are then designed to determine the approximate sizes and locations of the members. The Construction and Manufacturing Planning System (CMPS) determines costs, schedules, and resource demands to manufacture and construct these structural systems. From this information, the engineer, along with manufacturing and construction experts, can select the most appropriate structural system for a given project.",
