N2 - The ion-exchange selectivities of [Al3++ Na+]-substituted tobermorites with 1–20 mol% substitution of aluminum for silicon at low loadings were investigated for Mg2+, Sr2+, Ba2+, and Ni2+. The selectivity order depended on the degree of substitution, exchanging medium, and loading of metal ions, reflecting different types of ion-exchange sites in the Al3+-substituted tobermorites which are an interesting group of calcium aluminosilicate cation exchangers.
