Abstract
A remotely controlled shallow-draft vehicle boat is developed that continuously and efficiently determines water quality in shallow areas. The boat collects real time data, salinity, and other environmental data by onboard computers, water quality instruments, global positioning system (GPS), digital compass, and remote control receivers. The water quality sensor is used in fresh, salty, and polluted shallow water, to measure conductivity, temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen, and salinity, of shallow water. The GPS unit with a sounder interface involves a transducer that detects depth data and is connected to the Cube through a serial port interface. The remote controllers operated from the laptop computer consists of analog control sticks, to manage the movement and speed of the boat. A remotely operated vessel (ROV) provides shallow water tracking quality against wind and waves.
