title = "Shear coaxial injector spray characterization near the LOX post tip region",
abstract = "A characterization of the droplet spray field was performed immediately downstream of the LOX post of a shear coaxial injector using a phase Doppler interferometric device. The tests examined the variation in drop size and mean axial velocity for several post configurations and flow combinations. Injector configurations included recessed or nonrecessed LOX posts having straight or tapered tips. Water and air under atmospheric conditions were used as substitutes to liquid oxygen and gaseous hydrogen. These tests were intended to provide initial insight into the structure of the spray field within a region considered critical to flame stabilization in reacting liquid oxygen and gaseous hydrogen rocket engines.",
