Abstract
The dynamical behavior of a 1-3 type polymer-ceramic piezocomposite transducer has been studied using finite element method. The simulation of the surface vibration profile shows excellent agreement with the results of optical interferometer measurements. The nonuniform 3-dimensional stress distribution and the displacement field have been calculated, which provide important information for the design of ultrasonic composite transducers. The transient behavior under impulse driven situation was stimulated and effect of ceramic volume content on the displacement uniformity can be directly visualized.
