Abstract
A pair of rate equations is derived for one-dimensional, simultaneous transfer of heat and moisture in moist air. A new transfer property beta is presented which measures the cross effect of a temperature gradient on moisture transfer. The sum of beta and the chemical potential equals the specific enthalpy of water vapor.
