Abstract

Sleep appears to be an important element in maintaining equilibrium or homeostasis, which is vital for the survival of living organisms. In this article, we review the association between sleep, sleep disorders, and stress, which has been defined as a state of disharmony, or threatened homeostasis. © 2007
