Abstract
The dependence of tungsten leaching and solution purification processes on solution composition is treated in terms of aqueous phase diagrams (such as Eh-pH, log Metal-pH, log Anion-pH) generated with the DIAGRAM computer program. The systems considered are W-H2O, Me-W-H2O, Me-W-CO3-H2O, Mo-H2O, Me-Mo-H2O (Me = Ca, Mn, Fe); S-H2O, W-S-H2O, and Mo-S-H2O. These diagrams are examined in the context of selective dissolution of tungsten from scheelite and wolframite.
