Abstract
In this correspondence, the error surfaces associated with insufficient order adaptive filters with white input are considered. It is shown that some sufficient, but not necessary, conditions for multi-modality of these surfaces can be identified. A convenient method is also presented which determines the stationary points of some insufficient order adaptive filters with colored inputs.
