    Abstract

Redundant residue number systems are of interest because they have properties that are useful for error control and failure recovery in digital processors. This letter shows how complement coding interferes with error detection in redundant residue systems. A technique is given to correct the difficulty computationally, and a modified coding scheme is presented for redundant residue systems.
