Abstract

The transmittance spectrum of GdCOB:Ho crystal, which was grown by using Czochraliski pulling method for the first time to our knowledge, was measured. The absorption peak of Gd³⁺ and Ho³⁺ ions was labeled. The absorption cross-section and oscillator strength were calculated on the basis of its spectrum. According to Judd-Ofelt theory, the spectral strength parameters Ω₂=3.511×10^-20 cm², Ω₄=1.093×10^-20 cm² and Ω₆=0.985×10^-20 cm² of Ho³⁺ were fitted.
