Abstract
The scope and features of a long-duration undergraduate research project called Students Project Involving Rocket Investigation Technique (SPIRIT),, are discussed. The project used experimental learning and vertical integration technique to guide students of diverse background through three year engineering program. It was designed to be an educational program with a meaningful scientific component. SPIRIT got a positive response from the students and broadened the range of educational options of the technical and non-technical students.
