Statistical properties of mobile-to-mobile code alignment in CDMA communications

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

This study derives the density function of the code clock offset between two mobile stations in a cellular IS-95 CDMA system. Each mobile station is assumed to be synchronized with the cell's base station clock to within the tolerance specified by the IS-95 CDMA standard. The analysis presented is useful when considering direct mobile-to-mobile communication without intervention by the base station. Simulation results are presented that validate the theoretical results.
