Abstract
Superconductivity in alkali-doped AxC60, persisting up to very high temperatures, raises important questions about superconductivity in low-bandwidth molecular solids. Superconductivity arises from an effective attractive interaction between electrons. It was found that the interplay between these interactions leads to a local pairing of the electrons for molecular systems with Jahn-Teller phonons.
