title = "Structure based computational plant cell wall model",
abstract = "Understanding plant cell wall's composition and their mechanical role is a key to harvesting and utilizing cellulose stored in the plant cell wall. Biologists have proposed various plant cell wall models including how cellulose and other polysaccharides interact based on biochemical experiments. As the cell wall's major function is to provide mechanical strength of plants and to regulate its growth, these models should be tested against mechanical properties and developmental behavior of plants. Using the previously developed multiscale computational model of the plant cell wall, how does the description of interconnection between celluloses and other polysaccharides contribute to the overall behavior was investigated. In this context, one of the proposed cell wall models is studied.",
