Abstract
Preheat control to avoid problems associated with secondary graphitization as well. As long as preheat temperature, interpass temperature, and postweld temperatures are maintained above the martensite start temperature of ductile iron, the formation of martensite will be avoided. This temperature may have to be maintained for a time after welding.
