Abstract

Fabiano OVERVIEW AND DESCRIPTION For more than 20 years, the summer treatment program (STP) has been used to treat children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). The STP was first implemented by the senior author (WEP) at Florida State University in 1980. The program has been continually developed and expanded since that time and has been used in over 20 locations throughout North America. The STP was included as a key component of psychosocial treatment in the Multimodal Treatment Study of Children with ADHD, whichwas the largest study ever conducted to evaluate treatment ofADHDor any other child mental health problem (1).
