Supra-nonlinear photorefractive response of C60 and single-wall carbon nanotube-doped nematic liquid crystal

Abstract

We have observed an extremely large micro-watt laser induced photorefractive effects in nematic liquid crystal doped with C60 and single-wall carbon nanotubes. The effective refractive index change coefficient can be as large as 20 cm2/Watt.
