Abstract

An overview is given on the important aspects of glass fiber surfaces that may be impacted by the sizing process. The utility of methods used to characterize these surface structures is demonstrated. In the case of E-glass fibers, changes in surface characteristics that can be used to explain and model the final filament properties are described.
