Abstract
This entry seeks to contextualize survey methodology as a means of advancing social scientific work. In particular, the entry focuses on online survey methodology. It explores the opportunities and perils of relying on online survey methods to collect people's attitudes and behaviors. A brief comparison of alternative types of survey data collection is also offered.
