Abstract
The synthesis of MgZr4(PO4)6 [MZP] by a sol-gel method is described and the thermal stability of this low thermal expansion material is presented. Crystal data were calculated from the powder x-ray diffraction data which show this phase to be monoclinic primitave with cell parameters a=12.426 A ̊, b=8.836 A ̊, c=8.903 A ̊, and β=89.62°.
