Synthesis of 4‐amino‐3,2′ ‐dimethylbiphenyl‐3‐methyl‐¹⁴C and 4‐amino‐2′‐methylbiphenyl‐2′‐methyl‐¹⁴C

The syntheses of 4‐amino‐3,2′‐dimethyl‐biphenyl‐3‐methyl‐¹⁴C, a potent carcinogen and mutagen, and 4‐amino‐2′‐methylbiphenyl‐2′‐methyl‐¹⁴C, an analogue having weaker activity, are described. In both cases, label was introduced with Cu¹⁴ CN.
