Abstract

Silica nanoparticles were synthesized in AOT microemulsions. Synthesis experiments were based on the AOT/decane/ammonium hydroxide microemulsion system and the water-to-surfactant molar ratio was the main variable studied. The emphasis of the present study was directed toward the relationship of size and size distribution of the product particles and the properties of the microreactor used in their synthesis.
