Abstract
The synthesis of telechelic polymers which contains two OH groups using 8-boraindane/oxygen controlled radical initiator was analyzed. It was observed that process is centered on bicycloborane compound which serve as functional initiator. In the polymerization process, monooxidized bicycloborane residue remains bonded to continuous growth of polymer chain, despite continuous growth of polymer chain. The telechelic polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) polymer was quantitatively converted to corresponding silane derivative by reacting with Cl-Si(CH 3) 3 reagent to determine concentration of OH group.
