Synthesis of novel linear polyethene-based graft copolymers by atom transfer radical polymerization

Abstract

The synthesis of linear polyethene-based graft copolymers is described. The syndiotactic polystyrene graft copolymers were synthesized by atom transfer graft polymerization using the brominated syndiotactic polystyrene as initiator and CuBr combined with pentamethyldiethylenetriamine as catalyst. 1H NMR studies of the copolymer and the brominated copolymer were conducted.
