Abstract
This paper presents the synthesis of poly(D,L-lactic acid) (PDLLA) homopolymers with different molecular weights and discusses the effects of some important parameters on the average molecular weights. The number-average molecular weights of the PDLLAs with low molecular weights are obtained by end-group analysis. Viscosity measurements are used to obtain average molecular weights of the PDLLAs with high molecular weights.
