Abstract
The synthesis of a sulfonimide bearing phenolic compound and its use in the classical macromolecular substitution approach to produce a phosphazene polymer bearing pendent sulfonimide groups were presented. Membranes were cast from 1,4-dioxane and were characterized before and after crosslinking with respect to their proton conductivity, water swelling and thermal properties. A blended membrane of the sulfonimide functionalized polymer with poly (vinylidene fluoride) was also studied.
